Here is my experience with ICICI bank (NRI services)
I am existing customer of ICICI.
I used to get emails from ICICI without any month populated in the date. So email will be something like /20/2005 and will be lost in my mail box. After my comments via email, it appears that they fixed this issue. But now they have started sending statement showing account details, balance information in plain html format to my inbox. Big security concern for me. I sent them email, but I have not received any acknowledgment. Not sure if this issue is fixed or not.
Now I want to send money to India.
So I called their tollfree number 866-ICICI-4U
I was told about Option 1 for existing customer and Option 2 for new customer.
I pressed 1. Call went to Indian call center.
Mr. Tanuj asked me for my email address.
I said that I do not want to give my email address because of spam concerns.
I can give my account number or home phone number.
He informed me that he cannot "service me"(his words) unless I give him email address.
I gave him decline@yahoo.com and told him I want to talk to a manager regarding this policy.
He said that it is 4 am here and no supervisor is available. Please leave your phone number
and someone will call you. This was 2 days ago and till date nobody has called me from ICICI.
I called them today (Option 1) and gave my decline@yahoo.com address.
I was told that I need to select option 2 for new account with money2india
as it is separate from ICICI.
I selected option 2. Ms. Uma was on the line.
Asked me email address. I asked if home phone number is okay. She said NO.
I said that I want to talk to a supervisor. Guess what, you cannot talk to supervisor without email address, so I gave decline@yahoo.com
I was on hold for a few minutes (it was acceptable duration with horrible HOLD music).
She said that supervisor is busy, can "you" call after 1/2 hour, because supervisor cannot call outside.
I said I want to close my account. What is the procedure for that.
She told me that this is "new products" division servicing new customers.
I said "Thank you" and hung up.
No wonder, Dell moved their customer support back to USA.
India has a long way to go to match customer service in north america.

That sucks man!
Let me tell you my experience, I was testing how good is money2india site and their service. While in india, I asked my friend (US)to test this service by sending $100. He made it and forwarded the tracking number as well. Then in 48hrs I got around $1000 credited to my account accompanied by money2india email saying your money is credited ?
wtf? $1000 instead of $100 ? Thats great! :D
I called my friend and asked whether he made any mistake sending $1000. Astonishingly he sent only $100. The rest $900 is someone else's.
Now you know they are giving money free. :) [ Anyway I asked local ICICI staff and corrected the error, I don't want someone else's money ]
Keep in this mind people, money2india service sucks! I suggest you use other companies services.
